  1. Walka Handheld TV


    It is a DVB-H digital TV player which allows you to watch television on the go. This device is portable, slim, light-weight and has a built in signal receiver that lets you receive the DVB-H signal and content in areas where there is DVB-H coverage.

     

  2. Why is the picture so small on a laptop/PC?

     

    The screen has been designed to enable use of other functionality on your device.  As a result the resolution ha been doubled to ensure quality visuals.

     

  3. What are the advantages of having the Drifta DStv Mobile Decoder?

     

    The Drifta will enable you to watch broadcast Mobile TV and access the mobile TV guide on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

     

  4. How much does the Drifta 1 cost in Kenya?

  5. What do I need to be aware of before purchasing the Drifta?

    • Firstly you need to ensure that you are within the coverage area. Please visit www.dstvmobile.com to see which areas are covered in your area.
    • You need to activate your Drifta with our call centre, or using the SMS shortcode service. Should the Drifta not be activated on our system, you will not be able to use it with your viewing devices.
    •  You need to ensure that you are using the Drifta with a compatible viewing device that meets all the minimum system requirements. Please refer to question below “Which devices does DStv Mobile support with the Drifta?”
    • When activating the Drifta, we need to ensure that your Drifta is linked with your DStv account on our system. This would ensure that you are billed correctly.
    • Ensure that you have downloaded the Drifta application on your viewing device.

    NOTE: Please ensure that your Drifta is not connected to your PC when installing the application as the device driver will not install.

     

  6. Do I need a special SIM card in my cell phone to use the Drifta?

     

    The Drifta does not require a special SIM card to be used in your phone.

     

  7. Will it be DStv Mobile or my mobile operator billing me?

     

    If you have subscribed to DStv Mobile via the Drifta, the monthly subscription fee will be billed by MultiChoice on your DStv account.

     

  8. How long will subscription at no extra cost to DStv Premium customers be valid for?

     

    Yes, the content is different for Premium subscribers and any other package subscribers.  Premium subscribers have access to an additional channel on their channel line up as compared to the other packages.

     

  9. Can I record the Drifta video feed?

     

    No.  The video feed cannot be recorded as we want you to enjoy mobile entertainment on your mobile viewing device as it happens.

  10. How does the Drifta work with DVB-H broadcast?

     

    It plays the role of a decoder that recieves the DVB-H broadcast signal, converts it into Wi-Fi and relays it to Wi-Fi enabled viewing devices such as your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.  The viewing device must have the Drifta application software installed on it for mobile TV to work.
