Walka Registration and Activation
DStv Mobile subscribers who purchased a DStv Mobile Walka or Drifta between December 2011 and present are required to register and activate their device online by clicking ‘here’.
Failure to do so will result in the subscriber being unable to view mobile TV.
Customers that activated their device as per the normal process before December are not affected.

Walka error message
Since the launch of the Walka Handheld TV earlier this month, the product has been performing well and consumer feedback has been positive.
In the last week, some of the Walka devices have been displaying an E16 error message; this indicates that the device has a temporary problem with the encryption system on the broadcast signal. A temporary solution has been found; affected customers must simply switch off the device and switch it back on. Should any other error messages be experienced, contact the MultiChoice call centre or send an email to care@dstvmobile.com.
Customers that recently bought the Walka must follow the normal activation process by contacting the MultiChoice call centre or visiting our online activation process at http://drifta.dstvmobile.com/activation
You can be assured that all Walkas come with a one-year guarantee and we will gladly replace any unit if it is found to be faulty in any way. Swops can be done at the place of purchase or any MultiChoice Centre; proof of purchase must be presented.

DStv Mobile Network Downtime
DStv Mobile (broadcast) will be adding new channels to its existing package on 04 April 2011! This means there will be no signal on 04 April from 05:00 to 14:00.
The available channels will be:
eNews
CNNi (new)
Channel O
E! Entertainment (new)
Sony Max (new)
Africa Magic
Cartoon Network
Trace Urban
SuperSport 1
SuperSport 2
SuperSport 3
SuperSport Blitz
Drifta subscribers
Drifta subscribers will be required to reset and rescan their Drifta to view the new channels. Failure to do so will result in the new channels not being available to view.
To reset and rescan the Drifta:
- Insert a PIN in the reset hole next to the ‘Power On’ button
- Press and release pin to reset the device. (The DVB-H light will flicker rapidly. This indicates that the Drifta has been reset).
- Launch the DStv Mobile application on your PC
- Select the ‘Settings’ icon next to the ‘Programme Guide’ Icon
- Select ‘Scan Channels’
Handset subscribers
Handset subscribers must rescan the channels and purchase the DStv Mobile package to view the new channels. Failure to do so will result in the new channels not being available to view.
To restore the channels on your handset:
From your Mobile TV application:
- Select 'Option'
- Select 'Rescan'
To purchase the DStv Mobile package:

- From the main menu
- Select ‘Mobile TV’
- Select ‘Purchase’
- Select ‘Channel Packages’
- Select ‘DStv Mobile’ Channel Package
- Accept the Terms and Conditions
- Select ‘Purchase’
- Select ‘OK’
- The purchase request will be sent through
- Your phone will receive the ‘Rights Objects’
- You will be presented with a list of current available channels that you can watch.

- From the main menu
- Select ‘Applications’
- Select ‘Mobile TV’
- Select ‘Options’
- Select ‘Subscriptions’
- Select ‘New subscriptions’
- Select ‘Channel Packages’
- Select ‘Single Package’
- Accept the Terms and Conditions
- Select ‘Verify’ to verify your subscription
- Wait for the Rights Objects to be sent to your phone.

- APN Settings are defaulted
- Access Mobile TV from the main menu
- Phone will display ‘Parsed’
- Select ‘OK’
- Enter default code of 1234 when prompted
- Select ‘Yes’ when prompted to retrieve subscriptions
- It might take a while, but leave the phone to run until prompted to move to the next selection.
- Select ‘Options’
- Select ‘Watch/Purchase: to purchase the subscription’
- Select ‘Channel Packages’
- Select the ‘DStv Mobile’ Bouquet
- Select ‘Single’
- Select ‘Verify’
- Select ‘OK’
- You will be presented with a list of current available channels that you can watch.

DStv Mobile Downtime
DStv Mobile will be conducting scheduled network maintenance on 11 May 2011. As a result the DStv Mobile signal will be inaccessible and you will be unable to watch Mobile TV. Maintenance will begin at midnight (SA time) and end later in the day.
All countries with the DStv Mobile service will be affected, namely; South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia and Ghana.
