DStv Mobile Subscription costs - South Africa
Since the launch of the DStv Mobile broadcast service in South Africa, the service has been offered at no subscription cost as part of the introductory phase. From the first week of April 2011, billing will commence in South Africa and a subscription fee will be applicable for the DStv Mobile package via a DVB-H enabled handset or Drifta devices. The e.mobile bouquet is free of charge.

The Drifta retails at R599 and is available at MultiChoice branches, agencies and select retail outlets.
The Drifta USB retails at R399 and is available at MultiChoice branches, agencies and select retail outlets.

Drifta
The Drifta DStv Mobile decoder is retailed at MultiChoice customer care centres, and selected retailers. Billing for the DStv Mobile service via the Drifta will be done by MultiChoice. The DStv Mobile subscription and DStv satellite subscription will be included in one bill and a breakdown of the services will be provided.
The MultiChoice billing system works a month in advance and payment must be made before the first of the following month, as indicated on your statement.
The DStv Mobile and DStv satellite subscription cannot be seperated and a customer will be required to pay the due amount foa all services. Partial payment for only the DStv Mobile or DStv satellite service will result in all services being suspended untill the account is brought up to date.
Insurance
MultiChoice offers insurance for the Drifta and the device can be insured at the time of purchase for a nominal monthly amount. Please inquire from any MutliChoice customer care centre for details.
Handsets
DVB-H enabled handsets are made available by the mobile operators and their service providers. The DStv Mobile service will be billed by the mobile operators in advance, according to the billing period selected.
Contract subscribers will have the cost included in their monthly statement and pre-paid subscribers will have the amount deducted from their airtime account.
