DStv Mobile is a service offered to users on the Vodafone live! mobile portal. The service provides access to great TV channels, a selection of videos clips and it is available 24/7 on a subscription basis.

DStv Mobile is available to all Vodacom customers via the Vodafone live! mobile portal.
- Select "Mobile TV" from the homepage of the Vodafone live! mobile portal
- To see the full offer of DStv Mobile channels, select "All Channels" in the DStv Mobile Channels section
- All channels will be displayed together with programme information showing "Now" and the upcoming show
- Click "Now" on the channel programme of your choice and you will be presented with the subscription page which is a 2 step process
Step 1
- To begin the subscription process, complete the 4 required data fields (these are 4 demographic questions)
- The Terms and Conditions can be read by clicking on the link provided
- Click on "Next" to continue
Step 2
- Select your subscription choice i.e. Monthly or Weekly subscription
- Once your subscription is confirmed, the initially selected channel will start streaming

- SMS 31116 from your cellphone (the sms is free)
- You will be sent a link to the Vodafone live! mobile portal and more information on how to subscribe

- By clicking on "Videos" in the "Browse" section at the bottom of the page, the available videos will be displayed.
The DStv Mobile TV package, gives you access to a single bouquet of 11 TV channels and a selection of video clips.
Certain channels are regular, as you would view them on the DStv satellite service. Other channels contain programming that has been re-purposed for mobile viewing.
At DStv Mobile, we value our customers and view them as individuals. The information we collect is to improve our service offering and we assure you that your details remain confidential and will not be shared with a 3rd party.
The service is available to all Vodacom prepaid, postpaid and top up customers.
There are two subscription options available. Monthly: R59 or weekly: R19 (from the date of purchase). The subscription fee includes data costs subject to our "fair usage policy".
Once you select your subscription option, it is automatically recurring, so there is no need to re-subscribe. Click on "My Account" to view and manage your subscription details.
As a DStv Mobile subscriber the data usage for your TV channels and videos is included in your subscription, subject to a "Fair Usage Policy" where we reserve the right to limit access to your mobile TV service as soon as you have consumed 45 minutes for a weekly and 180 minutes for a monthly subscription.
If you get "cut off" based on the "Fair Usage Policy" you will get access again as soon as your DStv Mobile subscription is automatically renewed. Check under "My Account" for details on your subscription.
You will have to wait until your subscription period is complete and your subscription is automatically renewed. There are weekly and monthly subscriptions, both can be cut off if the limit is reached. The actual cut off by the system is executed whe the Fair Usage limit is exceeded in the Fair Usage Policy.
It is not possible to subscribe twice in the same month. However, you can check for your subscription renewal date under My Account. As soon as your subscription is automatically renewed you will have full access to DStv Mobile again.
Yes. The standard DStv service and the DStv Mobile Service are on two different services. The DStv service that you already have uses MultiChoice satellites and a monthly subscription fee applies. DStv on your phone uses the same network as that used by Mobile Network Operators, in this case, Vodacom. There are additional costs associated with the delivery of the service to your cellphone using the Mobile Operator's Network.

To protect minors from access to adult content via their cellphones, Vodacom has an Adult Content Management system in place. Parents can bar their children from accessing adult content by dialling *111*123# from the cellphone they want to block. For more information please click here.

Videos
DStv Mobile is available to all Vodacom customers via the Vodafone live! mobile portal.
- Select "Mobile TV" from the homepage of the Vodafone live! mobile portal
- To see the full offer of DStv Mobile videos, select "All Videos" in the DStv Mobile Videos section
- Videos will be displayed in different categories i.e. Featured videos, Popular right now and Videos by channel
- Click on the show name (e.g. Egoli) of your choice in the Featured videos section or Popular right now section and the selected video will start streaming (only if subscribed to the service)
- When clicking on a channel in the Videos by channel section e.g. M-Net, a list of available videos will be displayed, by clicking on a show name, the selected video will start streaming (only if subscribed to the service)
- By clicking on "Channels" in the "Browse" section at the bottom of the page, the available channels will be displayed.
Subscription to the DStv Mobile TV package is inclusive of access to the selection of video clips. Data charges are subject to our “fair usage policy”

DStv Mobile is a service offered to users on the MTN Play mobile portal. The service provides access to great TV channels that will be available 24/7 on a subscription basis.

- Select the DStv Mobile link on the top menu
- Login/Register to MTN Play
- Click on the “Subscribe Now” link and follow the steps
From the WAP portal on your cellphone
- Browse to the MTN Play homepage
- Select the DStv Mobile link on the top menu
OR
- Select the DStv Mobile icon further down the page
- Click on any one of the mobile TV channels and you will be prompted to subscribe

- Select the “Subscribe” link at the bottom menu items and follow the steps
DStv Mobile is available to all MTN Contract, Top Up and Pay As You Go customers.
DStv Mobile is accessible on any 2.5G or 3G capable cellphone. Please note that the service is not accessible on iPhones as well as via the Opera Mini web browser.
Once you have selected any one of the available subscriptions, it is automatically recurring, so there is no need to re-subscribe to the service.
For contract customers, the amount will be billed accordingly each month. For Pay As You Go customers, the subscription amount will be deducted from your available airtime.

When subscribing to DStv Mobile, you will receive access to all available 11 mobile TV channels and will not be able to subscribe to specific channels.
There are no other DStv Bouquet options available on DStv Mobile currently.

There is no parental control feature available; however there is parental guidance on certain channels where applicable.
Cancellation of DStv Mobile subscription can be done on the MTN Play portal when selecting “Unsubscribe” menu item.

What is Made for Mobile Channels?
Why do some channels have “mobile” next to the channel name?
These are the channels whose programming and/or schedule may differ from that of the DStv satellite channel with the same name. Currently M-Net Series Mobile and E! Entertainment Mobile fall into this category.
Why is the “mobile” channel not the same as the satellite channel?
Broadcast mobile television is a new service globally and in certain cases our content suppliers are not able to provide us with programming in the same format as seen on the satellite service. We regularly evaluate our content line-up with both our customers and our suppliers and make changes if required.
Why does the content repeat several times a day on E! Entertainment?

Why is the M-Net Series channel not an exact replica of M-Net Series on DStv at home?
The mobile version of the channel is largely the same as the satellite channel, but where licenses have not been granted for certain programming, substitute programming has been scheduled. We regularly evaluate our content line-up with both our customers and our suppliers and make changes if required.
